The CCO will be focused on driving PL to deliver a growth target of 20% over the next 3 years, taking full responsibility for rapidly expanding the commercial potential of the group globally, by strategizing and executing the commercial success of PL. He/she will be focused on taking ownership of the customer and customer interface with product or service offering, ensuring that all functions of the organisation are aligned to meet PL’s strategic commercial objectives. The role will be closely linked to the organisation’s strategic management function, in drafting, implementing and evaluating cross-functional decisions that will enable PL to achieve long-term objectives. The CCO will form part of the executive leadership team (ELT) and will have 5-6 direct reports.
Deliver leadership to the company with a hands-on approach to all commercial aspects to drive the company forward to its next growth phase
Implement tracking, monitoring and analyses of sales activity and performance to ensure profitability and ROI, ultimately integrating robust commercial processes across all relevant departments including marketing, development and project management
Engage with C-level Stakeholders, both internally and externally.
Be a key member of the senior management team
Direct and lead the commercial activities of PL
Drive revenues on a weekly, monthly and annual basis
Lead a global sales team
Establish medium/long-term strategies for revenue growth and maximisation of shareholder value
Secure long-term high value subscriptions
Drive revenues in new areas across our global footprint
Answer to shareholders at Board level on the commercial success and future of the company
Key Attributes, Skills and Experience
Entrepreneurial in approach and able to demonstrate having developed/delivered international commercial strategies in the past.
Proven commercial/sales and business development background which has been widened in recent years to include experience gained in a broader range of senior general business positions.
A broad range of experience and a proven track record of developing, negotiating & delivering high value subscription deals.
Demonstrable, successful leadership background, with excellent people skills and a strong record of managing and motivating high-performance teams,
Proven ability to work across different teams
Proven commercial leadership experience within the BI/subscription space
Track record of delivering revenue growth through managing an existing client base and offering new products to deliver greater value
Experience of developing a strong pipeline of new client prospects from first contact to spend
Track record of business change and improvement
The role requires a highly personable and motivated individual, with the ability to build strong commercial relationships.
Educated to a MBA level
10+ years’ experience in a commercial leadership role
Significant experience in Events and/or Membership
