You will edit written research content; online articles; print publications, including the quarterly magazine PLQ; guides; and event programmes.
You will help handle the flow of copy and content, working with the production team to publish output on time and to a high standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
Editing and, where appropriate, rewriting copy to ensure readability and accuracy while maintaining house style.
Liaising with writers and researchers to carry out legal and fact checks.
Editing images and graphs for use online.
Collaborating with stakeholders throughout the business to approve and publish work.
Optimising digital content – repackaging research reports, developing site searchability, making content more accessible, and so on.
You will have:
Education/experience: Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent – (preferably in journalism, communications, publishing, English or a related field) you will have experience working on print and digital publications, preferably for a B2B audience.
Relevant publishing experience: You understand how to produce great print and digital content and will help us find opportunities to improve what we do. You should also have a working understanding of best practice in digital publishing, including optimising content for use on social media and adapting long-form research to produce actionable, insight-driven content.
Writing and editing skills: Your excellent editing, spelling, punctuation, grammar and proofreading skills and your outstanding attention to detail will be vital in this role. You will be able to produce interesting and engaging page furniture – including headlines, standfirsts, captions and summaries.
Technical skills: You will be experienced in using a content management system to edit and publish content and have a working knowledge of Adobe InDesign. Experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is advantageous.
Organisation skills: You can meet deadlines, prioritise work and ensure the seamless delivery of a demanding schedule.
Teamworking skills: You are able to build and develop strong working relationships by delivering a conscientious service, driving both internal and external customer satisfaction.
Professional attitude: You are a motivated, organised, critical thinker with an ability to deliver to deadlines who has the initiative, ambition and dedication to have a fruitful career in a rapidly developing media environment
